TAP is The Primate Fiasco's 3rd studio album. There are two things about this CD that are worth noting. One is apparent when listening, the other is behind the scenes.

The audible difference for this album is that it is concise and lyrical while having somewhat of a Side A / Side B feel. While the last CDs tried to capture what happens on stage, this CD focuses on the lyrics. Extended, improvisational versions are bound to happen live, but this album gives it to you strait and to the point. The first half of the CD is quick. It's the dance side of the album, if you will. After the tempo and spasticness peak, it settles into the end of the album, with a clear contrast in speed and weight. "Slower" and "mellower", for The Primate Fiasco doesn't say much, but an element of poetry and beauty did manage to float to the top of what is usually a dance floor.

The other notable point about this album is behind the scenes. This album surprised even the band when it came to how quickly and effortlessly it could be done. Most of these songs didn't exist in late January. The songs were written at a red light on the way to the studio, recorded in one day, and then sold 10 seconds later. Sarcasm aside, If you compress the time line, taking out the empty days in between, this entire album took less than one week from writing to burning. The band felt the crunch of needing a new product on an indie budget and busy touring deadline but in the end, each musician liked it even more than they hoped they would.

The Primate Fiasco is proud of these songs and looks forward to reinventing them each night in front of an audience.

1 CHECK - quick instrumental

2 WRIST BAND TAN LINE - If you'd get it at all, you'd get it from the title.

3 WHALE SONG - um.. a collection of memorable experiences?

4 ODE TO A.D.D. - a show tune style apology from those of us who suffer from A.D.D. It's the comic relief of the disc.

5 CASA DETON - Latin Instrumental

6 COULDA SHOULDA WOULDA MONSTER - is wearing your favorite neck tie

7 TIME MACHINE - a plea (incase heard in the future) to have access to a time machine for historical curiosities, not personal gain.. promise..

8 JUDY - a slow sweet jazz song by Steve Yarbro to.. Judy.

9 ROOFTOPS - A song about that moment where you realize you were taking something for granted. Dedicated to the foreclosed, divorced, laid off, or anyone lost with a puzzled look on their face.

10 SONG FOR A FRIEND - to the one who helps you find yourself.

There may or may not be a hidden track that only our local fans would understand.

correct

The special disc.

Sure, that's what we'll call it. There was a printing error where, long story short, the CD came out hot pink. The printer, of course, was nice enough to reprint the job for us. The actual disc will be reflective like a disco ball. But still, there is a box of pink CDs sitting in the band office. We like to think these CDs are special for the collectors and imagine that it might taste like bubble gum if chewed. They're not available online but if you know the band, see if we still have any.
